CHP turbine Rankine cycle|ORC on biomas

Offer type: salePublished: 28.02.2010

When compared to alternative technologies of comparable sizes (from 0,4 to 2 MWel production), Turboden ORC plants demonstrate the following advantages:
1. Absence of a high pressure ‘vapour generator’ inside the boiler (in a thermal oil boiler a liquid is heated, without phase changing). The presence on site of a licensed boiler operator is not required .Therefore automatic, continuous and unattended operation of the boiler and of the turbo-generator is allowed
2. Low Operational&Maintenance requirements and long life of the components
3. Clear and simple interface between the boiler and the ORC turbo-generator
4. Operation simplicity. Partial load conditions are obtained by modulating a three- way valve on thermal oil side or by changing the thermal oil temperature, like in a standard water boiler
5. Very high turbine efficiency (up to 90%)
6. High efficiency even at partial load
7. Low RPM of the turbine allowing the direct drive of the electric generator without reduction gear
8. Low mechanical stress of the turbine due to the low peripheral speed
9. No erosion of blades, thanks to the absence of moisture in the vapor nozzles
10. No need of water treatment system.
