Sapele is used in the form of sliced veneer facing, for furniture, paneling, parquet flooring, doors, piano, as well as timber.
The heartwood is pale pink to dark red, with time quickly darkening to reddish-brown hue. As a rule, Sapele from the Ivory Coast (Aboudikro) is darker than the wood from other growing areas.
