Trichogramma - the main means of biological control of noxious insects outdoors. The microscopic size of the insect - predator (size of 0.4 - 0.9 mm) with color ranges from yellow to black, which is capable to destroy pests in the egg stage.
Trichogramma appropriate to use against pests that are hidden, and therefore the use of chemicals against them ineffective. Trichogramma parasitizes eggs of more than 80 kinds of harmful.
Experience in the use of Trichogramma shows that biological efficiency of destruction of the pest:
- On corn and sunflower is 65-70% and saves harvest 5-7 kg/ ha ;
- Sugar and fodder beet efficiency of 75% and harvest preservation 35-40 t/ha
Together with this: Low cost compared with the cost of chemical processing plants (cheaper not less than 3 times, taking into account overhead. Also, this method biosecurity plant is environmental and destroys pests in the "unavailable" for chemistry.
