The drug liquid gold is used for coloring porcelain and faience products, glass, restoration and icon-painting works. After firing the product obtained mirror-gloss film. The shades depend on the concentration of the drug and additives minor amounts of other metal compounds. The concentration of the drug is 4-6-8-10-12%. Reduction of gold content leads to a significant weakening of the gold tone of the film and to worst practice.
Preparations of "liquid" gold should meet the following requirements:
1.the contours performed by the pen, should not spread;
2.the drug product should be dry for 10-20 minutes, making a brilliant brown film;
3. must be able to withstand the firing temperature in the range of 750-810°C without burnout;
4.film after baking should be strong and not be removed by the finger;
5.the surface after firing should be shiny, no matte raids and stains.
Remember:
1 .Gold on porcelain is baked at a temperature of 750-810°C with an exposure of 20 minutes, otherwise the film will be fragile. At temperatures above 830°C a gold "fade", i.e., there is a gathering of particles in the aggregates.
2.The gold must be annealed separately from the colors, because the gold film is bad there are a pair of organic binder. Particularly harmful acts salinity anhydride zelenovich of colors that breaks the flux of the gold film.
3.The firing of earthenware, decorated with gold, is carried out at a temperature 760-790°C.
4.For long glass dishes, gold is baked at temperatures 540-600°C, and the crystal at a temperature of about 450°C. the thickness of the gold film on the products is about 0/1 mm.
