The use of ammonium nitrate
Used as a main, presowing fertilizer and as a top dressing. On buffered, alkaline soils (pH 7) possible continued use of nitrate. In acidic soils (pH 5-6) there is a need for liming (adding limestone) at a dose of 1 kg per 1 kg of nitrate, making it as the main fertilizer and for top dressing. Especially effective is the application in nutrition of winter crops cereal crops, providing a yield increase of an average of 10 kg per 1 ha and above. Under the primary tillage make ammonium nitrate at doses up to 3.0 kg/ha, fertilizer – 1,0-2,0 t/ha.
In ammonium nitrate half of the nitrogen contained in the nitrate form, easily migrates through the soil profile. Therefore, on well-drained soils of light granulometric composition in areas of sufficient or excess moisture and irrigation ammonium nitrate to make in the period of greatest consumption of nitrogen by plants. This prevents the loss of nitrogen beyond the root zone of the soil and increases the rate of its use by plants. Effectively apply ammonium nitrate together with phosphate and potash fertilizers, but it is recommended to mix them just before adding to the soil. On light-textured soils, ammonium nitrate is recommended to apply before planting for cultivation.
The advantages of using ammonium nitrate:
1. Regulates growth of vegetative mass
2. Increase the protein and gluten content in grain
3. Increases the level of crop yields
