Barberry Thunberg "Orange Dream" - a relatively new variety of barberry, bred in the Netherlands, won the bronze medal at the international fair Plantarium in 2011. This variety is a rare collector's plant. Very beautiful and colorful ornamental dwarf shrub with a spreading crown. This variety of barberry refers to a slow growing deciduous shrubs. The shrub grows to a height of 60 cm, width 35-50cm. Its crown growing vertically. The leaves are small, oblong, deep orange color. By the end of summer or beginning of autumn the foliage becomes a darker shade of red. Shoots red-brown, with small, hard spines. Blooms in late may, simple, small, yellow flowers, collected in several pieces in inflorescence. Fruits in late August - early September, covered with coral-red berries, reaching a diameter of 10 mm. Prefers Sunny locations, drought resistant, frost hardy, tolerant of urban conditions. Barberry Thunberg "Orange Dream" is a versatile plant: you can plant as a tier in the hedge, effective as a bright border (cropped, free-growing), blends beautifully W green, yellow and dark perennials, could be a tapeworm. Beautiful in a container or garden pot. Looks great in single crop and in a group, for example, in various flower beds and Alpine slides.
