Tightening of TRG (expanded graphite)
Gland packing is made by the TWG expanded graphite, expanded Teflon (PTFE yarn), high-temperature and low-temperature carbon fiber, aramid (Kevlar) yarn, and from various combinations of these
fibers with a variety of additives and impregnation.
Advantages:
1.Thermally expanded graphite — TRG has a very low in comparison with asbestos friction on steel: 0,12 on a dry surface
and 0.03 in the presence of a liquid film, of asbestos he is equal to 0.5,thus, the packing of the TWG do not need additional lubricants.
This property is subject to a smaller required number of rings significantly increases the efficiency of the pump reduces effort when moving the rods of rebar, virtually eliminating wear on the sealing surfaces and increases the life of the gasket.
2.Tightening of the TWG at temperatures up to 650С almost never loses the volume and weight over time, especially in a closed space of the stuffing chamber.
3.Unlike material asbestos fiber gaskets, TRG practically impermeable to liquids and gases. Excellent compressibility
material provides intimate contact with the surface of the shaft or rod and between the threads in weaving. This allows not only
to ensure the tightness of the knot, but also to reduce the number of used gaskets up to 4 – 6 rings instead of 8 – 10 rings containing asbestos.
Application:
Tightening of the TWG are recommended for sealing centrifugal and plunger pumps, compressors, agitators, mixers, valves and
control valves, non-abrasive sealing environments, and other similar equipment in the chemical, oil industry, energy industry, pipelines, utilities, in practice, cold and hot drinking water,
land reclamation and the food industry.
Medium: Steam and superheated steam, water, oil and oil products, chemical medium.
Tightening of TRG supplied in coils from 2.5 kg to 10kg.
