All standard samples of ultrasonic inspection are divided into state - GSO, industry - CCA and standard samples of enterprises SOP. Standard samples in an ultrasonic flaw detection and thickness measurement are used to determine the propagation velocity of ultrasound (m/s), the ultrasonic attenuation (dB) or attenuation coefficient (dB/cm), effective defect area (mm2) effective thickness of material (mm).
Reliability, uniformity, ultrasonic testing, depends on the correct selection, reliability and uniformity of the reference signals from the artificial reflectors produced in a standard ultrasonic samples, which function as measures of physical quantities the velocity of propagation of ultrasound, the ultrasonic attenuation and effective (reflecting ultrasound) square artificial defects.
GSO State standard samples are used for the storage and transfer of the units of measurement of the velocity of propagation of ultrasound, the ultrasonic attenuation, effective thickness and effective area of the ultrasonic reflectors industry standard designs, ultrasonic flaw detectors and thickness gauges.
The CCA is Designed for measurement of ultrasonic pulse detectors (sensitivity and error of measurement of coordinates), receiving the reference signal from the cylindrical reflectors with certification and calibration of standard samples of enterprises.
SOP for ultrasonic testing of concrete materials, products and compounds, reference signals for configuring the ultrasonic pulse detectors usually get from artificial reflectors in standard samples of enterprises, manufactured from materials similar acoustic characteristics (propagation velocity and attenuation coefficient).
