The device is designed to determine the adhesion and resistance to damage by scratching ASTM D 2197 "Method of determining the adhesion of organic coatings using scratching". The device meets the requirements of ISO 12137-1, ASTM D 5178, ASTM D 2197
A distinctive feature from the existing analogue of CIS production - full compliance with the standards.
Modern requirements to the quality of coatings include control of mechanical resistance of the coating to damage. One important criterion of evaluation is the hardness of the coatings. For different requirements, there are different methods of assessing the hardness (strength) of the coatings.
This unit is designed to assess the resistance of the coating to scratch. The cutting unit with replaceable indenture pressure on the surface with a known force and moves by a specified distance.
Depending on the purpose of the test and the applied load, the degree of penetration of the cutting unit in the coating can be different: from the surface of the track to complete destruction. This determines the strength of the coatings to scratch.
