Potassium dichromate (potassium bichromate, potassium dichromate, potassium bichromate) is applied:
- as a tanning agent in the leather industry for tanning of hides and sheepskins;
- as a component in the manufacture of dyes and inorganic pigments;
- as an oxidizing agent in mixtures for the heads of matches, pyrotechnic and industrial structures;
- as a component of dry electrolytes;
- as corrosion inhibitor of metals and alloys;
- as mordant to seeds;
- as a reagent in chromatomyia.
