Cantilever pumps for pumping water is often produced for industrial purposes centrifugal pumps. The centrifugal impeller is a working body of the cantilever pump. Cantilever pump, in which a centrifugal wheel is composed of two disks, and between them there are blades that connect them (drives) in a single structure. The blades are curved in the direction opposite to the direction of movement of the centrifugal wheel. Cantilever pump is the most common so-called pump with closed impeller.
Sometimes cantilever pumps with a single drive and open impeller. At the time of rotation of the wheel on the fluid that is inside the wheel experiences a centrifugal force is directly proportional to the distance from a fluid particle to the center of the impeller and the square of the circular velocity at the disc's rotation. Under the action of this force, the water ejected from the wheel with blades in the pressure pipe cantilever pump, and in the center of the same wheel vacuum is formed, and in another part of the high pressure. In the console pump the movement of fluids through inlet pipe is played by differences in pressure above the free surface in the receiving tank and in the Central part of the wheel. Cantilever pump, as a rule, single stage, cast-iron one-way inlet centrifugal pump impellers which are located on the shaft end.
The largest allowable excess pressure when pumping the liquid inlet where cantilever pump: for console pump with mechanical seal - 8 kgf/cm2, Salnikov seal of 3.5 kgf/cm2. Pets water leakage through the gland seal pump up to 3 l/hour (through the gland should ooze fluid for lubrication and cooling of the cantilever pump and sealing surfaces). Leakage through mechanical seal is much smaller and ideally is nearing zero. Cantilever pump comes from domestic manufacturing plants according to the international standard ISO and Standards in equal quantity.
