Metronidazole belongs to the group of nitroimidazoles has an impact anaerobic bacteria (spore and nonsporeforming), treponem, alab, balantine, histobond and Trichomonas.
Metronidazole is administered to swine dysentery caused by Treponema (Serpulina) hyodysenteriae and balantidiasis (Balantidium suis). Large cattle and dogs trichomoniasis and geordies.
- Method of application and doses: Metronidazole is used in the form of a 5% solution intramuscularly in doses: 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight (5 mg metronidazole 1 kg of body weight) in dysentery, caused by Treponema spp.; 2 ml per 10 kg of live weight (10 mg of metronidazole per 1 kg of body weight) in dysentery caused anaerobes and balantidiasis; once or twice with an interval of 24 hours, cattle and dogs at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of weight. Allowed the use of metronidazole orally in doses of 10-12 mg per 1 kg of weight.
- Waiting period: the Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed not earlier than 7 days after the last injection of the drug.
In the case of compulsory slaughter of animals before the deadline, meat can be used as feed for fur animals or for the production meat and bone meal.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place.
