EBONY (EBONY)
The sapwood is pale, yellowish-grey. The core
glossy-black, rarely with a few light strokes. Wood with
metallic luster and fine smooth texture. The fibers may be straight,
a bit messy or fibrous. The wood is very dense and heavy,
sinks in water. Hardness is very high, more than an 8.0. Very difficult manual
and machine processing. Ebony has brittle wood, tends
to splitting. With careful finish gives brilliant dense surface.
Suitable for high quality polishing. Prerequisite is
drilling holes for nails and screws. It is not recommended to use varnishes,
adhesives and primers, water-based.
Used for decorating of expensive furniture, manufacturing of various crafts,
musical instruments are removed. and in artistic parquet floors.
