The coupler SA-3 (Fig 106.01.000-0СБ) refers to the shock and traction equipment and is intended for coupling and uncoupling railcars, perception and transmission of the shock-traction harness device of the freight cars. The coupler SA-3 refers to non-rigid automatic couplers.

Automatic coupling device consists of five parts:

sled device with the absorbing apparatus;

Case coupler is designed to transmit the shock-traction harness device and for placing mechanism which is coupling and decoupling of cars.
