It is a heavy breed, where the males and females are equally heavy: for example, the average weight of the gander is 7.5 kg and maximum 8 kg. whereas the average live weight of the goose is 7 kg, because the breeding of geese of this breed is economically justified.
Among the main characteristics of the Danish geese Legart note:
rapid growth and weight gain;
a small percentage of mortality at all stages of growth;
a good fertilization of the eggs.
The level of feed intake this breed is 20% lower than most breeds. Every year goose give 25-33 eggs per year, of which the output of Chicks is about 65%.
