PTFE rod Ø 50 mm is artificial crystallized polymer with a special internal structure, containing a large number of fluorine atoms. This composition makes the material inert against exposure to all solvents, acids and other aggressive media, gives good dielectric capability, imparts water repellency and other unique characteristics that allows its widespread use in industry. The rod shape of fluoroplastic f-4 is obtained by longitudinal extrusion of thermally treated plasticized fluoropolymer granules, followed by sintering (for hardening) billets in autoclaves. Longitudinal extrusion can be vertical and horizontal. The technology vertical extrusion of rods of PTFE is preferred, because it eliminates the side gate (unlike horizontal extrusion) and allows to achieve a more uniform density of the product throughout the volume, and, respectively, and better physical and mechanical characteristics. To improve physical and mechanical properties of PTFE in the composition of the material can enter additional modifiers (increase the hardness, wear resistance, modulus of elasticity, impact resistance, improve anti-friction properties, etc.). As the main modifier is applied fiberglass with molybdenum disulfide or bronze, as secondary fillers can distinguish Nickel, copper, coke, graphite, boron nitride, powdered aluminum, etc.
