The power steering UMZ (45-3400010Д) serves to reduce the efforts made by the tractor to the steering wheel. Because of the presence in the mechanism of such item as a worm gear pair, the transmission of rotation occurs in one direction (from the steering column to the wheels) that prevents the transmission of shocks when driving on uneven road surface from the steered wheels to the steering column. This in turn helps to reduce the effort needed to control the tractor, it also increases the maneuverability and durability of the steering.

Tractors series factory installed booster screw type, which is made in one housing with a steering mechanism. Designed to reduce the efforts made by the tractor in the management of the unit, reduce the impact load on the steering wheel when driving on rough roads.

For proper and continuous operation of the power steering 45T-3400010 and hydraulic system in General must comply with a number of the established parameters of components and parts. The discrepancy of these parameters is eliminated by appropriate adjustments. Adjustment of a backlash of the gear pair worm – sector is carried out by removing bolts (figure POS. 27) on 2 - 3 turns and turn the bushing (to reduce) or against (to increase) a clockwise direction. This gap should fit the gap on the surface side portion of the worm splines when in the middle position the bipod 0,6 – 0,7 mm. After the adjustment, the bolt must be wrapped. For stable operation of the WTP it is important to tighten the thrust bearings spherical nut (POS. 20), but note that, due to excessive preload may occur misalignment of the spool and increased torque. Before tightening the distributor fixed to the casing Gur two bolts, before placing it under the head bolt washers that match the thickness of the flange covers (POS. 19). Nut worm tightening until it stops and twist 1/8-1/12 of turnover so that the hole in the worm coincided with a slot for pin. Then the nut sprintout. Next, Unscrew the bolts securing the dispenser to the housing, put the cover and firmly secure the dispenser to the Guru. Adjustment of free travel of the stub shaft is produced by twisting until it stops the screw housing of the steering gear by loosening the lock nut. Then Unscrew the screw on 1/8–1/10 of the turnover and stopper it with a locknut.
