Hydroxide barium
(barium hydroxide) is one of complex inorganic substances. Is strong
base.
Barium hydroxide under standard conditions is a colorless
crystals. A saturated solution of hydroxide of barium called barium with water.
Hygroscopic. Not soluble in alcohol, but soluble in water.
Application:
Used for
cleaning rastitelnyi oils and animal fats, as a component of lubricants, for
removal of SO42− (sulfate ions) from industrial solutions, obtaining salts
barium and hydroxides of rubidium and cesium from their sulphates and carbonates.
Main application:
- in the oil industry as one of the components to obtain
additives for improving the quality of lubricating oils;
- in the sugar industry for separation of sugar from molasses;
in soda, electrical, chemical industry;
- in the manufacture of stabilizers difficult and complex, when
the preparation of a number of salts of reactive skills.
