Sodium formate is a chemical compound get as a result of processing of pentaerythritol. Also called sodium salt of formic acid. The basis of this substance is pentaerythritol, together with its derivatives. Wide application of sodium formate is concentrated in the construction, chemical and leather industry.

The sodium salt of formic acid in its pure form is crystalline structure. Often, this chemical is white in color, but sometimes it can have shades of green and gray. Contaminants in the bulk often lacking.

This compound quickly dissolves in water more low solubility is observed in the interaction of sodium formate with alcohols, insoluble in ether.
