Acid oleic

Oleic acid is a colourless viscous liquid with yellowish or brownish tinge, buttery, not soluble in water. Oleic acid is soluble in ethyl alcohol, ether and chloroform. Oleic acid is widespread in nature, found in almost all animals and vegetable fats. Oleic acid is found in beef and pork fat.

Get oleic acid by hydrolysis of animal fats and oils. The resulting mixture fracciones and perekristallizatsii of acetone and methanol at subzero temperatures.

Oleic acid has a wide scope. It is used as cutting fluid for cutting steels and other alloys. Oleic acid used as a plasticizer in the manufacture of paints and varnishes.
