Wine acid food (Sint.)

 

Is a colorless hygroscopic crystals or white powder without odor, but has a very sour taste, soluble in water and ethanol, insoluble in benzene, ether and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Is dibasic salt potassium acid. Exists in the form of three stereoisomers (D-, L-, matovina acid) and a racemate.

Density of 1.76 g/cm3, temperature melting point 170° C.

Tartaric acid - a common natural connection. In a significant number it contains in acidic juice many fruits for example grape juice.
Produce tartaric acid from different raw materials, it can be a waste of the wine industry, for example, cream of Tartar or Vinoteka lime, also used dried wine yeast or, rarely, fresh fruit.

In food industry citric acid is used as regulator acidity (food additive E-334) for the production of canned food, jam, jelly and various confectionery products. Is added in the manufacture of beverages and table water.

Finds wide application in the field of winemaking.

In the pharmaceutical industry used for the production of soluble drugs, effervescent tablets and some other drugs.

So has exfoliating, whitening and moisturizing effect widely used in cosmetic industry to produce creams and lotions for the face and body.

In the textile industry is used for protection from alumina and other stains for dyeing fabrics.

In analytical chemistry is used to detect sugars and aldehydes.
