Saccharin sodium food
Saccharin (the imide of ortho-sulphobenzoic acid imide 2-sulfobenzoic acid, ortho-sulfobenzoic) — colorless crystals of sweet taste, slightly soluble in water.
Sold "saccharin" is a crystalline sodium salt, which is 300-500 times sweeter than sugar. Saccharin is not absorbed by the body (excreted in urine).
Saccharin used instead of sugar when you diabetes and also as a substitute for sugar.
In the food industry was saccharin as a food additive E954 as sweetener. Like other sweeteners, saccharin has no nutritional properties and is a typical xenobiotic.
Now time food use of saccharin is strongly reduced, although available sweeteners for saccharin (Socratic), and in beverages and some other products a mixture of sweeteners, as being used on its own, saccharin gives not very pleasant metallic taste.
Also imide derivatives of 2-sulfobenzoic acid are used as fungicides, herbicides and antibacterial drugs. The imide 2-sulfobenzoic acid, and also its calcium and zinc salts included in the compositions used for the manufacture of toners for laser printers and copiers. It is noted that small additions of imide 2-sulfobenzoic acid can to influence the course of the vulcanization of rubber with peroxides.
Product the interaction of tetrahydroquinoline and imide 2-sulfobenzoic acid finds the use in compositions based on methacrylate components used in as adhesives for metals.
