Aluminum-magnesium powder

Powder aluminum-magnesium, spaciousness or PAM usually is an alloy of aluminium with magnesium in the proportions 50/50.

This alloy is easily crushed. In chemical terms it is less sustainable than aluminium, but more stable than magnesium. The rate of combustion of pyrotechnic compositions for PAM-e is much higher than a simple mixture of aluminum and magnesium. The spaciousness slowly reacts with the ammonium perchlorateand does not react with ammonium nitrate.

In pyrotechnics PAM is typically used in sparkling fireworks and signal compositions. With the nitrates of barium and strontiumburns pulsating flashes.

Widely used as a structural material. Main advantages of aluminum in this capacity, lightness, ductility stamping corrosion resistance (in the air instantly covered with aluminum durable film of Al2O3, which prevents its further oxidation), high thermal conductivity, readability its compounds. Powder aluminum-magnesium alloy (PAM) is also designed for use in the manufacture welding electrodes, building materials and refractory products, as well as is used as the combustible components of pyrotechnic compositions in pyrotechnic products for civil and military purposes.
