Monoammonium phosphate

Monoammonium (ammophos) is a fully water soluble fertilizer, formula NH4H2P04, which is widely used as a source of phosphorus and nitrogen, has the highest content of phosphorus (61%) of solid fertilizers.

The contents nitrogen is 10-12%, and the nitrogen is in the ammonium form. Most often found formula fertilizer 11-52-0. Solubility at 20°C 370 g/l, the pH of the solution is 4-4,5. It is recommended that its use early in the season, when the demand of the root system in phosphorus is especially high. Process the relatively simple production - ammonia and phosphoric acid are mixed in a ratio of 1:1, after reaction of the resulting monoammonium phosphate (LFA) granulated. The content of P205 varies from 48 to 61%, depending on purity of raw materials-phosphoric acid. The higher the degree of purification monoammonium phosphate, the greater the danger of caking, so this product contains conditioning additives.

In the presence of soil moisture IAF quickly breaks down into NH4+ and N2, RO-4, ions which well absorbed by plants. The reaction of the soil solution changes to slightly acidic, therefore, ammophos is a good choice for neutral and alkaline soils. Granulated ammophos contribute to spreading on the soil surface with subsequent incorporation or tape. The monoammonium phosphate in the soil can be placed close to germinating seed without the risk of damage to their ammonia. Fertilizer often used for fertigation in the field, as well as in peat substrates, where nitrification is doing quite effectively and the risk of poisoning plants ammonia is low.

Thanks the highest phosphorus content among the mineral fertilizers monoammonium recommend to apply early in the growing season for best development of the root system.
