Bleach (chloride of lime)

Bleach (chlorine lime) - is a mixture of dwuhosnovny salt of calcium hypochlorite, oxychloride, chloride, and calcium hydroxide. Used as a strong oxidizer in textile and paper industries for bleaching fabrics and cellulose, in some chemical industries for obtaining of chloroform, chloropicrin, as degassing and disinfectant, for disinfection of the soil about grain storage from storage pests.

The use of chlorine can be divided:
– use for domestic purposes;
– use for industrial purposes;
– use in medicine (chemical methods disinfection).

Bleach widely used as a disinfectant and microbicide, often just for cleaning and disinfection of drinking water. Apply bleach to obtain chloroform, for the manufacture of the unshrinkable wool. In as oxidizing agent and bleach a substance used in textile and other industries. Serves as bleaching agent for cotton, linen and wood pulp.

Chlorine lime has a disinfectant, antibacterial, deodorizing properties. With this purpose, chlorine is used in household premises and industrial enterprises.

Chlorine lime is applied in dry form in low concentrated aqueous solutions, the form of a clarified solution. To prepare the clarified solution of bleach diluted with water to the desired concentration, the solution is kept during the day, and then drain the upper transparent liquid layer.

In medicine apply a diluted chlorine solution for treatment of ulcers, infected wounds; bites of snakes and poisonous insects.

Large the amount of chlorine is in the bleaching of textiles and pulp, from which made paper.

In the chemical industry bleach is a raw material for the production of different organic and inorganic compounds. For example, for oxidation of toxic cyanide hydrogen sulfide, sulfide, hydrosulfide.

Used chlorine in metallurgy for obtaining such silicon and refractory non-ferrous metals, such as tantalum, titanium, niobium and others.
