Butyl acetate grade A

Butyl acetate— the organic substance of class complex esters, organic solvent.

Colourless or slightly yellowish liquid with a pleasant a fruity odor.

Butyl acetate slightly soluble in water; miscible with organic solvents and vegetable oils; has all the properties of esters.

Application:

- dissolve cellulose esters;

- chlorinated rubber;

- vinyl polymers;

- phenol formaldehyde and other resins;

oil;

fats.

Butyl acetate is a good solvent of nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, glyptal resins , etc. film-forming substances used in paint and coatings industry. Included in many multicomponent solvents, for example, the solvent 646 and 648.

The addition of butyl acetate with a small amount of butyl alcohol prevents whitening lacquer films. Butyl acetate used in the leather industry as tanning agents.
