Cation exchange resin (ion exchange resin) is
a high-molecular polymer compound three-dimensional gel and
macroporous structure containing a functional group of an acidic nature,
able to cation exchange reactions. The cation exchangers are insoluble in water,
solutions of mineral acids, alkalis and organic solvents.
