The purpose and technical characteristics of the gamma-ray radiometer ROG-M:
Gamma-radiometer ROG-91M ADANI "ADANI" is designed to measure
specific and volumetric activity of gamma - emitting radionuclides
Cesium-134,-137, natural Potassium-40 and Radium-226 and Thorium-232 in
samples of the natural environment.
Technical data gamma-radiometer:
Scintillator-crystal Cs I (TI) size 40x40 mm.
The limits of permissible basic error of measurement of volumetric activity
radionuclide potassium-40 when the measurement time is 20 min (0,2 – 50,0 kBq/l)
-50%; 2 min (0.5 -50,0 kBq/l) – 50%.
Limits of additional error in the measurement of temperature
1%/1º C, when measuring the external background gamma radiation up to 50 Mr/HR -25%.

The principle of gamma-radiometer ROG-91M ADANI based on counting
the number of light pulses occurring in the scintillation detector at
exposure to gamma rays. The number of registered per unit
time of light pulses unambiguously linked to the activity of the investigated
sample.

The investigated sample (sample) is placed in the cell, which
use the Marinelli vessel with a volume of 0.5 l Cuvette with the sample
placed inside a lead protective screen, which reduces the impact
external background radiation. On top of the screen closes the lead
a protective cover. Light flashes occurring in the scintillator, through
the light falls on the photocathode photoelectron multiplier and
converted into electrical pulses which, after amplification of the received
in the device selection. Device selection sorting
pulses according to their amplitudes(proportional to the detected energy
gamma quanta). This allows you to determine porceline deposits isotopes
cesium and potassium in the total activity of the sample. The processing device
controls the operation of the device selection and calculates quantitative
characteristics of ionizing radiation. A display and
management sets the mode of operation of the gamma-radiometer and induces on the scoreboard
the measurement result. The operation mode is set using the 14 buttons on
the front panel of the device.
ATTENTION!!! In gamma-radiometer as
the detector uses a crystal Cs I (T 1), which requires careful
treatment. Avoid mechanical shock to the device and a sudden drop
temperature!!!
