The device "P 164А" is designed to connect the sirens "40M" (C-40), C-28 to the AC network in accordance with receiving signal remote turn-on, coming in over the subscriber line from the BOW, KTSO P-166, SE stands ABOUT 5 equipment alert P-164, UDOF. The device is used for work involved and a free subscription to lines of communication urban and rural telephone networks.
The device P-164А working conditions:
- excluding the impact of vapors of acids, alkalis and other aggressive media;
- ambient temperature from -40 C to +40 C;
- relative humidity not more than 98% at a temperature not above +25 °C;
atmospheric pressure of 60 kPa (450 mm Hg. calendar) to 104 kPa (780 mm Hg. calendar).
The device is made in climatic design U2.1 according to GOST 15150-69 and intended for installation outdoors if protected from direct exposure to rainfall.

- loop resistance less than 3,000 Ohms;
- the insulation resistance between the line wires and between each wire and a "zero" not less than 20 ohms;
the capacitance between the wires and between each wire and "zero" is not more than 0.6 UF.
When receiving the remote control signal device must provide:
- selection of communication line before the end of the remote control signal;
the results in the communication of the confirmation signal ("answer") on reception of the control signal. The duration of the acknowledgement signal from 200 MS to 500 MS, and the level of from 50 V to 90 V;
connection load power up to 5 kW of AC power with voltage 380 / 220V frequency of 50 Hz. Depending on the received signal is continuous or intermittent connection of the load to the AC mains.
The device needs to receive the remote control signal from UDUP for subscriber communication lines with the following parameters:
- loop resistance 2000 Ohms;
- the insulation resistance between the line wires and between each wire and a "zero" not less than 20 ohms;

The device must provide a telephone connection via the subscriber line between the serving device and the operator, in P-166, REV-5, SE, in the transmission of a call signal from a P-166, REV-5, SE.
