Urea-ammonium nitrate (UAN) has a number of advantages over solid fertilizers in terms of agrochemical activity and the problems of transportation, storage and process of making.
In this respect, attention is drawn to the urea-ammonium nitrate (UAN), which is an aqueous solution of ammonium nitrate and urea in the ratio of 35.4 % urea, 44.3% of nitrate, 19.4 per cent of water, 0.5% ammonia water. The composition and ratio of the components indicate that in the CAS contains three forms of nitrogen - ammonia (25 %), amide (50 %) and nitrogen (25 %), making fertilizer works extended, and the plants are provided with nitrogen throughout the growing season of culture.
All forms of fertilizer are not volatile and do not cause loss of nitrogen, so it can make the surface without incorporation into the soil. Nitrate and ammonium is directly plant-available. First absorbed nitrate nitrogen, which is very mobile in the soil. Ammonium nitrogen is retained in soils and not leached to deeper layers. When applying the Cam into the soil, this form is accumulated in the topsoil and becomes available to plants during the growing season. Part of the ammonium form is converted into nitrate. The amide form in the soil transformered into ammonia and then into nitrate. This system makes nitrogen UAN fertilizer at the same time fast and long-acting. Due to the absence of CAS of free ammonia it does not evaporate to the atmosphere during incorporation, however, the presence of the ammonium form still makes minimum sealing sealing especially in conditions of high temperatures and lack of precipitation after application.
Cam can be used on the following dates in the following ways:
- fall under the basic treatment of soil;
in the spring presowing treatment of soil;
in vegetation period of agricultural crops for root and foliar nutrition;
- use as a compensatory dose of mineral nitrogen to increase the coefficient of humification of straw, eliminate her depressive effect on the growth and development of plants by balancing the ratio of carbon and nitrogen.
Rules and dose make the Cam depend on the type of culture, time and method of application, predecessor, and other factors.
