- front (spindle) headstock, which houses the gear box, spindle and other elements;
- gearbox, transmission with the required ratio of movement from the spindle to the caliper (using the leadscrew for threading or the running roller in the processing of other surfaces);
- the apron in which transforms the rotation of the screw or a roller in translational movement of the caliper with the tool;
- in the tailstock quill can be installed center to support a workpiece or core tool (drill, reamer, etc.) for machining the center hole in the part, fixed in the cartridge;
- the caliper is used to fix the cutting tool and the communication of the movements of the feeder.
The caliper consists of a lower sled (carriage) moving on the guide frame. Guide the bottom of the slide is moved in the direction perpendicular to the line of centres cross slide, which is a tool carriage with tool holders.
Tool carriage mounted on the rotating part, which can be set at an angle to the center line of the machine. The main parameters of the machines are the biggest diameter of workpiece over the bed and the greatest distance between the centres.
