The capillary glass viscometers WPI No. 1(0,54;1,16;)WPI No. 2(0,34;3,35)WPI No. 4((0,82;3.55)
Designed
to determine the viscosity of liquids.
Description:
Is a U - shaped tube,
in the knee which are soldered capillary.
Measurement of viscosity using a capillary viscometer is based on determining the time of expiration through a capillary of a certain volume of liquid and the measuring tank
The capillary glass viscometers
Viscometer VPI-2
Specifications
The diameter of the capillary from 0.34 up of 4.66 mm
Constant of the viscometer To be determined individually mm2/S2
Kinematic viscosity is calculated by the formula: V= (g/9.807) T*K , where
K is a constant of the viscometer, mm2/S2,
V - kinematic viscosity, mm2/s,
T is the expiration time of the fluid, C,
g - free fall acceleration at the location of measurement in m/S2.
The device and principle of operation
The viscometer capillary VPI-2 (see figure) is a device in the form of a U-shaped tube, knee (1) span with capillary (7). The measurement of viscosity by viscometer is based on determining the time for which a certain amount of liquid will expire in the capillary.
Working order
To determine the time of flow in the outlet tube (3) wear a rubber tube. Then, holding the knee (2) viscometer perevorachivayut and sink the elbow (1) into the tank with liquid. Gtcost suck (using pear or pump) to the level of M2, while in the liquid should not form bubbles.
When the liquid reaches M2, the device is removed from the vessel and immediately overturn into the initial position. Remove from the tribe of (1) the excess liquid and put on his rubber tube.
Then the viscometer is placed in the thermostat so that the expansion (5) was lower than the level of the liquid in the thermostat. Incubated more than 15 minutes at a given temperature and then suck the fluid in the knee to the level of one-third of the expansion (5). Inform the knee (1) with the atmosphere and set the time to reduce the level of the meniscus from the mark M1 to the level of M2.
The viscosity is determined according to the formula given in section 1, the average time elapsed fluid (multiple measurements).
Viscometer ITG-4
Specifications
The diameter of the capillary from 0.37 to 3,55 mm
Constant of the viscometer To be determined individually mm2/S2
The kinematic viscosity of the fluid is determined by the formula: V= (g/9.807) T*K , where
K is a constant of the viscometer, mm2/S2,
V - kinematic viscosity, mm2/s,
T is the expiration time of the fluid, C,
g - free fall acceleration at the location of measurement in m/S2.
The device and principle of operation
Viscometer ITG-4 (see figure) is a tube U shape, the inside of the knee (1) soldered capillary (4). The measurement of viscosity by viscometer is based on determining the time for which a certain amount of liquid will expire in the capillary from the measuring tank.
Working order
To determine the expiration time of the liquid on the tube (6) wear a rubber tube. Further, the finger holding the knee (5) and turn the device, knee (1) is dipped into the tank with liquid. The liquid is sucked up to the level mark M2, care must be taken so that fluid no air bubbles.
At the moment of reaching the liquid level mark M2, the tank (3), the viscometer is extracted from the vessel and overturn into the initial position. Remove elbows (1) the excess liquid. Then put on the knee (1) rubber tube.
The viscometer is installed in the thermostat so that the tank (2) was below the fluid in the thermostat. Incubated for about 15 minutes, then at a given temperature, in the knee (1) suck the liquid up to one-third the height of the tank (2). Inform the knee (1) with the atmosphere and set the time to reduce the liquid meniscus from the mark M1 to the level of M2.
The viscosity is calculated by the formula given in section 2, middle (multiple measurements) the expiration time of the liquid.
