Emulsifiers Maxemul from the company Croda are polymeric surfactants and allow to obtain aqueous alkyd system with zero VOC (volatile organic compounds) that meets the requirements of EU Directive No. 2004/42/EC (on the restriction of discharge of VOCS in paints and varnishes). The resulting emulsion can contain up to 55% dry residue, while having low viscosity, long shelf life and providing excellent quality of the film.
Advantages:
- does not require new research on the development of the alkyd resins;
- minimum hardware costs: the emulsion is prepared in a conventional reactor with a stirrer;
- excellent quality of water alkyd resins in comparison with organic (slight change in hardness of the coating, comparable drying time of paint, preserving the transparency and gloss of the film);
