Dynasylan AMEO in the literature under the names: 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, gammaaminopropyltriethoxysilane, aminosilane, amidofunctional alkoxysilane; and in the product range of other manufacturers under the title: AGM-9, Xiameter 6011,Xiameter 6011 Silane from Dow Corning, Momentive Silquest A-1100, former shinetsu KBE-903, Geniosil GF 93 from Wacker, Chisso Sila-Ace S330.
The dual nature makes it suitable for chemical bonding of inorganic materials (glass, metals, fillers) and organic polymers, acting as a promoter of adhesion/ bonding/ stapler.
Is a transparent/ light yellow low viscosity liquid with an amine odor. Soluble in alcohols, aliphatic, and aromatic hydrocarbons.
In the presence of water ethoxy group Dynasylan AMEO hydrolyzed with the formation of reactive silanol groups (Si-OH) that can chemically connect with many inorganic substrates. Hydrolysis of Dynasylan AMEO happens autocatalytic. Organophilic functional amino group Dynasylan AMEO can react with a suitable polymer.
Examples of suitable inorganic substrates: glass, fiberglass, glass wool, mineral wool, quartz, cristobalite, wollastonite, mica, and aluminum trihydrate, dihydrate magnesium, kaolin, talc, other silicate fillers, metaloxide and metals.
Examples of suitable polymers: phenolformaldehyde, alkyds polyurethanes, acrylates, polyesters, and epoxy, furan, melamine resins, polyamides, polybutyleneterephthalate, polycarbonates, EVA, modified PPS, PVB, PVA, PVC, polystyrene, nitrile rubbers and silicones.
In the LMC Dynasylan AMEO is used as a promoter of adhesion between the paint film and the inorganic substrate. Besides the basic functions, the introduction of this additive will provide: better dispersion of pigments and fillers, will increase their content in the system, improve the physico-mechanical properties: impact resistance, film resistance to abrasion, further reinforces the covering, by better crosslinking of the polymer with filler and much more."
