Dynasylan VTMO is a bifunctional silane with reactive vinyl group and methoxysilyl-groups. In the presence of moisture methoxy group Dynasylan VTMO hydrolyzed with the formation of methanol and reactive silanol groups (Si-OH) that can chemically connect with many inorganic substrates or react with each other with the formation of siloxane structures (Si-O-Si). Organophilic terminal vinyl group Dynasylan VTMO can react with a suitable polymer. The reaction is initiated by the peroxide.
The dual nature of its reactivity allows the use of Dynasylan VTMO for chemical binding inorganic materials (glass, metals, fillers) and organic polymers (thermosets, thermoplastics, elastomers, etc.), while acting as a crosslinking agent, adhesion promoter and/or surface modifier.
