Main Features
Tank container 20 feet https://tank-container.ru/tank/20-futov it is a vessel for storage and transportation of liquefied gases and liquids. It is made of a sheet of alloy stainless steel up to 7 mm thick. Two convex bottoms with a diameter of 2400 mm are welded to the sheet from the ends. To increase the rigidity of the vessel, the installation of 3 equidistant steel belts is provided.
The vessel is mounted in a welded frame made of steel corners and channels used as beams and struts. The filling is carried out by means of a pump through the drain in the lower part. The drain can be carried out from the lower neck or through a technological hatch-groove located in the upper part of the tank container. For safe operation and maintenance of the tank, there are catwalks and a ladder installed on the roof.
The capacity of 20-foot tank containers varies from 20 to 35 thousand liters. The nominal pressure in the vessel is 4 Atm., and the operating temperature is in the range from -400 to +500 C.
Tips for choosing (classification)
Before buying a container tank, you need to know their varieties and purpose:
- IMO0 (T1-T6) is a container with a thickness of 2 mm steel sheet for food products and chemically stable substances (water, dairy products, alcohol). If even harmless chemicals were transported in the container, then it is already prohibited to transport and store food in it.
- IMO2 (T7-T10— is a container thickened to 4 mm for the transportation of food and low-hazard liquids. These include ammonia, gasoline, acetone, alcohol.
- IMO1 (T11-22) - containers 4-7 mm thick for the transportation of chemically active substances (alkalis, acids, petroleum products) dangerous to the environment and human health. As a rule, they are equipped with an upper drain, thermal insulation and a heating system to maintain conditions inside the vessel.
- IMO5 (T50) — containers for the safe transportation of flammable liquids and liquefied gases (propane, butane). Gas vessels cannot be used for filling with liquids.
In addition to the type and purpose of the tank, you need to find out its technical characteristics:
- wall thickness;
- operating temperature;
- pressure inside the vessel;
- the presence of heating or thermal insulation devices.
Special attention should be paid to the technical condition of a used tank container, bought even from reliable people.
Advantages of tank containers for cargo transportation
Without a universal and reliable transportation capacity, such as 20-foot tank containers, it is impossible to imagine the modern world industry.
Their advantages are:
Versatility
These containers are transported by road, rail or sea. You can also combine all three methods in turn.
Safety
Containers are manufactured according to ISO specifications, have absolute tightness, and provide a high level of safety when transporting especially dangerous goods.
Payback
Renting or buying a container tank is cheaper than railway tanks or tank trucks. And versatility for any type of transport allows you to organize fast and inexpensive logistics.
Durability
Unlike railway or automobile tanks, tanks take less dynamic loads, and do not need chassis maintenance.
