The center for materials science develops, designs and manufactures the annealing furnace calcined coke, a capacity of 50 kg / hour.

Kiln calcination is used for thermal processing of carbonaceous material in order to remove volatile components by heating to 900 ° -1200 ° C. and holding at this temperature for a certain period of time. Also kiln calcination direct contact can be used for other electrically conductive materials.

The steel shell of the furnace consists of three zones - heating material, calcining and cooling of the material. Furnace lining is made of refractory materials

Kiln calcination consists of:
- Steel case
- Thermal insulation
- The Central electrode
- Side electrodes
- Temperature sensors
Feeder (discharge system)
Analyzer the concentration of H2 in the exhaust gas
- Pressure sensor (in the download area of the material)
- Automatic control of the furnace
Auxiliary circulation system nitrogen

The oven works as follows:

Material from the hopper is fed into the working chamber of the furnace by means of a feeder. The source material is moving in a dense layer, which is purged with inert gas N2. In the upper preheating the incoming material is heated and the gas is cooled. Heated to a temperature of 500-800 ° C, the material is fed into the calcining zone, where it continues its heating by heat exchange with the heated gas, and heat when electric current passes through the layer of material. In the process the material is heated to a predetermined temperature of 900-1200 ° C.
The calcined material is fed into the cooling zone where the material cooling and heating of the inert gas. The material temperature at the outlet of the furnace is not more than 350 ° C.
