Steel 40H13 is corrosion-resistant heat-resistant stainless steel. In the quenched state, the microstructure of this alloy consists of martensite, carbides, residual austenite (a small number). Corrosion resistance of the above-mentioned alloy is very high and is provided by tempering at a temperature, which leads to the absolute dissolution of carbides. Only steel 30CH13 several superior in anti-corrosion properties of this type.
Steel with named parameters is cast exclusively in the induction or open electric arc furnaces. It lends itself well to hot plastic deformation produced in the temperature range from 1100 to 850 °C. To prevent the formation of cracks using slow heating and then slow cooling of the alloy with sand.
Steel 40H13 not be welded.
This alloy is widely used for tool production (cutting and measuring), various types of springs, household items, parts, compressors, bearings and all kinds of other products, used in slightly aggressive environments at temperatures of 400-450 °C.
