21 % nitrogen and 24 % sulfur. Not acidify the soil (neutral fertilizer).
Also used in the production of viscose fibers.
In biochemistry precipitation with ammonium sulfate is a common method of protein purification.
The food industry is registered as a food additive E517.
Sulfate
ammonium technology is used in the chlorination of water with ammonation -
it is injected into the treated water for a few seconds before chlorine. With chlorine
it forms chloramines, binding free chlorine, whereby
significantly reduced the formation of chlororganics, harmful to the body
man, reduced consumption of chlorine decreases the corrosion of pipes
water supply system.
Also finds application upon receipt of manganese by electrolysis.
