Sell Copper odnogolosy. Physical properties
Monochloride copper forms white crystals, cubic crystal system, space group F 43m, a = 0,5418 nm, Z = 4, ZnS type structure. When heated, the crystals turn blue. At a temperature of 408 °C CuCl enters hexagonal modification, space group P 63mc, a = 0,391 nm, c = 0,642 nm, Z = 4.
Monochloride copper melts and boils without the decomposition. In pairs fully associated molecules (dimers with a small admixture of trimers), so the formula of the substance sometimes write down how Cu2Cl2.
Poorly soluble in water (0,062% at 20 °C),
but well in solutions of alkali metal chlorides and hydrochloric acid. So in
a saturated solution of NaCl, the solubility of CuCl is 8% at 40 °C and
15% at 90 °C. Aqueous ammonia solution dissolves with the formation of CuCl
colorless complex compounds [Cu(NH3)2]Cl.
Application
Monochloride copper is an intermediate product in the production of copper.
The absorber gases during the purification of acetylene and CO in the gas analysis.
A catalyst in organic synthesis, for example by oxidative chlorination of methane or ethylene, in the production of Acrylonitrile.
Antioxidant for cellulose solutions.
Monochloride copper, like all copper compounds, toxic.
We offer a wide range of chemical products, laboratory glassware.
