Aluminum wire ER 4043, widely used for welding of cast Al - Si; Al-Si-Mg alloys type AD31, AD, AD (ice blocks, base plates, frames, etc.).
This is the most commonly used aluminum wire ER 4043, used for the welding of products from aluminum alloys 6XXX group with the total content of alloying elements up to 2% and silicon containing aluminum alloys with Si content up to 7%.
Welding wire ER 4043 applied to welding of Al-Si-Cu casting alloys with other aluminium alloys. The high content of silicon in the wire provides good wetting of the welded edges, allowing for a smooth transition from the weld to the base metal and a smooth and shiny surface. In this case the deposited metal has excellent corrosion resistance and is not prone to hot cracking and stress corrosion cracking under tension in service temperatures above 65°C. However, products for welding with standard welding wire ER 4043, not subject to the subsequent anodizing because of the differences in the resulting colors on the primary and the welded metal.
