Basalt mesh construction for masonry and binding works

Basalt mesh construction for masonry and binding works are produced from continuous basalt fiber (na Tobago roving or basalt twisted filament yarn) for knitting stitch-bonding machines of type "Karl Mayer Malimo" with the subsequent impregnation. Grid CBP-C is used in industrial and civil construction as a Mason and binding in the reinforcement wall materials of various standard sizes (bricks, stone, ceramic blocks, cellular concrete blocks, etc.) and structures using cement-sand, glue, and other binding solutions.

Basalt fiber, including continuous basalt fiber was developed in the 70 – 80s in USSR (Ukraine) with the aim of producing a product, superior to fiberglass in most of technical characteristics, but comparable in price and production costs. Motive was the creation of new materials resistant to the temperatures, pressure, aggressive environment in the development of space projects, including programs for the creation of reusable spacecraft "Buran". Manufacture and receipt of products on an industrial scale of continuous basalt fiber was first organized in the early 90-ies in the town of Sudogda, Vladimir region, the plant JSC "Sudogda fiberglass".

Currently, continuous basalt fiber manufactured at our factory various kinds of products: special cloth, roller basalt plastic, rods and various types of nets. Particularly successfully used basalt mesh in road construction for reinforcing of asphalt, concrete pavements of roads, airfields, soil improvement, etc.

It is well known that the application of this technology allows 1.5-2 times reduce the formation of transverse cracks, rutting, as basalt mesh is not afraid of corrosion, moisture, temperature extremes, resistant to stretching.

With the development of the construction sector, the emergence of new wall materials increased demand for coarse basalt mesh for use as masonry and braced for reinforcement of brick, stone, ceramic blocks, cellular concrete blocks and similar wall materials. Successfully used basalt mesh in the manufacture of heat-efficient wall panels for the reinforcement of concrete, which reduces cracking and facilitates the product itself.

A number of leading research and design institutes carried out research and testing of basalt meshes, basalt-plastic, which revealed the following positive aspects of this product when used in the construction. Traditionally, masonry and braced in the construction using metal welded mesh, supplied in coils and maps. It is well known that metal mesh is subject to corrosion primarily at the weld points, especially in the aggressive (e.g. alkaline) environment, which is the mortar. These grids have a relatively large weight (the map with a cell size of 50x50 mm, wire diameter of 3 mm and a size 0,5x2 m weighs 2,04 kg, i.e. 1m2/2,04 kg).

The total thickness of this grid is 6 mm and is designed for masonry joint not less than 8 – 10 mm, although in practice it turns out more. Metal mesh in rolls and "springy", it is quite difficult to lay on a flat surface (wall). The ends of the mesh are sharp, injure hands of workers. Metal mesh in the cards when shipping goes awry, spot welding doesn't stand up. The grid is very difficult, but if to estimate objectively, it is impossible to apply with a simultaneous reinforcement of different size of wall materials (brick, block and cellular concrete or ceramic, etc.) due to the absence of her elasticity. However, modern requirements to the construction efficiency, reducing costs and especially energy saving has led to the mass use of effective wall materials, such
