Sulfuric acid is used:
- anodizing of metals;
- as an electrolyte for acid battery;
- for soldering as a flux;
- in the treatment of ores, particularly in the extraction of rare elements, including uranium, iridium, zirconium, osmium;
- in the production of mineral fertilizers;
- as an electrolyte in lead-acid batteries;
- for obtaining various mineral acids and salts;
- in food industry it is registered as a food additive E513 (emulsifier);
- dehydration (preparation of diethyl ether, esters).
