The car is intended for transportation of bulk not pulverised, bulk (coal, ore and other), stacked and boxed goods that do not require shelter from the weather.
Unloading bulk cargo is carried out through the discharge hatches in the floor of the gondola.
The gondola has all-metal welded bearing body comprising side and end walls, a frame, floor 14 unloading hatches, as well as automatic coupler device SA-3, suspension, consisting of two-axle trucks, model 18-100 for 1520 mm and 1435 mm (on request), interior and exterior railings-stairs, and automatic Parking brake, automatic coupling with a typical absorbing apparatus. All major carriers and responsible design elements of the car are made of low-alloy steel 09G2S.
Open top body allows to mechanize the loading.
Unloading bulk cargo is carried out through the discharge hatches in the floor of the gondola on both sides.
Structural differences gondola model 12-9046 from the conventional design solutions for similar systems:
increased body volume 9 m3 (11,8 %);
increased specific volume of 0.14 m3/t (13 %);
reinforced end wall.
These changes in car design allow you to use them more efficiently for shipments that do not require protection from atmospheric precipitations, to increase the durability of the end walls as the weakest site of the car.
