Potassium chloride
(potassium chloride, potassium salt of hydrochloric acid) in its pure form is a white crystalline solid, odorless, hygroscopic, caking during storage, very soluble in water. Refers to the structural type NaCl.
The melting point 776° C, boiling point 1407° C. the Density of 1,984 g/cm3.
In nature it occurs in the form of minerals sylvite and carnallite, and also part of sylvinite. Potassium chloride is a product of the enrichment of Silvanovich ores and, depending on the way of dressing (hot-leaching or flotation), with the same chemical composition has different colors: grayish-white color (with salt enrichment) or from pink to red-brown color (with flotation enrichment).
