Potassium
genesisintermedia. Potassium genesisintermedia (red blood salt,
the potassium ferricyanide, potassium hexacyanoferrate) K3[Fe(CN)6] - dark red
rhombic crystals; solubility in water 26, 8% (10°C); water
the solution is a yellow-green color; the light gradually decomposes to
the formation of K4[Fe(CN)6].
In alkaline medium genesisintermedia potassium is a strong oxidizing agent (especially when heated).
When heated with dilute sulphuric acid decomposes to release hydrocyanic acid, by the action of concentrated H2SO4 is allocated oxide of carbon.
Is also used in photography (this is for anyone who takes pictures in a bath in red light) as an integral part of bleach. Bleaching is the oxidation of the metallic silver image.
