Alkylbenzenesulfonate (ABSK, ABSFK, LABSA, LAS, linear alkylbenzenesulfonate, linear alkylbenzene sulphonic acid, Alkylbenzene Sulfonic Acid ,Dodecylbenzene Sulfonic Acid).

Alkylbenzenesulfonate valuable product of organic chemistry. Obtained by sulfonation of linear alkylbenzene and used to get alkylbenzenesulfonates components of detergents, Surfactants for flotation of ores. Used as a foaming agent for penoizol.

In appearance ABSK is a viscous liquid from brown to black depending on the brand. Is classified as A, B, V.

Components obtained by ABSK: [triethanolamine salt] alkylbenzenesulfonate (tea-ABSK), sulfonol powder (sodium salt of alkylbenzenesulfonate), calcium salt alkylbenzenesulfonate and some others. Detergents, made in the basis components are derived using ABSK, do not corrode the surface products.

In the CIS is produced according to specifications of LABSA 2484-036-04669375-96 brands A, B and C. They differ in mass the percentage of LABSA: 96% (A) 90 %(B) 80 % ().

The content of sulfuric acid in them to 2 % (A) 5 % (B), 15% (), respectively.

Mass fraction of non - compounds (calculated on basic substance), % not more than: 5 (A), 10 (B), 15 (B).

Density (at 50 °C): 1 — 1,2 g/cm3.

The color of an aqueous solution of LABSA with a mass fraction of 5% according to the method Klette, 80 (A) 100 (B). Aqueous solutions Of LABSA resistant to heat. The surface activity of LABSA increases increased chain length (C9 — C14). Solubility in water decreases with increasing the hydrocarbon radical length. Of LABSA with the length of the hydrocarbon chains up to C15 very soluble in water. Of LABSA has high foaming ability. It forms a stable foam in D. V., and hard water. Foam stability in rigid and D. V. at all concentrations of 85-90 %. Alkylbenzenesulfonate (C12 - C14) form stable and high foam, and homologues C15 — C16 stability of foam and its height reduced.
