Trilon B or EDTA is an industrial name disodium salt ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and is a chemical substance the residual insoluble salts of metal ions with sodium ions. This property Trilon B allows to widely use it in the production of synthetic detergents, including shampoos, household chemicals, and for cleaning water-heating appliances from corrosion and scale.

Disodium edetate (chelating agent III, Trilon B, chelaton III) — organic compound, the sodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, is a white crystalline powder or white crystals. Highly soluble in water and alkalis, very slightly soluble in alcohol; pH 1% aqueous solution is 4.5; the pH of the preparation with mass fraction of 5% 4-5,5.
