The pipe sections are 40х40х4 produced, usually according to GOST 30245-2003 (profiles steel bent closed welded square structural), GOST 8639-82 (stainless steel; standard applies to steel seamless hot-deformed and cold-deformed, electric-and electric-welded cold-deformed pipes), and THAT-14-105-568-93 from commercial quality carbon steel St3, or of quality carbon steel with alloying additives, 09G2S. Pipe 40х40х4 is widely used in construction, agricultural machine building, in the repair field.
According to the method of production of profiled tube 40 40 4 can be hot-formed, cold-worked and welded. If it is further assumed the operation of the pipe in conditions of high pressure, the pipe undergoes hydraulic testing with the specified pressure. The test pressure is calculated by special formulas for each profile.
40х4 square tubes produced of steel St2sp, St2ps, St2kp, St4sp, St4ps, St4kp by DSTU 2651 (GOST 380) and grades 10, 10ps, 20,35,45,08 KP — GOST 1050. Pipe 40х40х4 can be manufactured with heat treatment or without it.
