Calcium chloride
is a colorless trigonal crystals, odorless, bitter taste, soluble in water and alcohol. Extremely hygroscopic. Vigorously absorbing water vapor, forming a first solid hydrates and then blurring in the liquid. Aqueous solutions of calcium chloride freeze at low temperatures (20% in -18,57° C, 30% at -48° C). Incompatible with salts of heavy metals, acids, and methyl iodide salts.
Density: 2.15 g/cm?. The melting point 772° C, the boiling point of 1935° C.
